Our Approach to Brows

Before anything else, we start with you.

You might come in with a photo you love, a shape you've always wanted, or a clear picture in your head from years of doing your own brows. All of that is useful but the foundation of any great result is understanding what we're actually working with.

Our individuality comes from our natural features. Your face shape, bone structure, brow bone, muscle movement, natural brow position, growth pattern, hair direction, density and colouring are all completely unique to you and they shape what's possible and what will look genuinely good on your face. We see brows as cousins rather than identical twins. That is why every brow design at Namu House is bespoke.

If you have existing microblading or nanobrows, have had previous removal, or have any scarring in the brow area, that's part of the picture too and something we factor in from the start.

Once we understand your canvas, we consider how to create balance, softness and symmetry in a way that still feels natural to your face. If one brow naturally sits higher than the other, for example, the most flattering result is often to soften the difference rather than force complete symmetry and risk an unnatural finish. The starting point will always be your own natural features. We work with them, never against them.

That foundation is also what guides which technique is right for you.

Microblading or Nanobrows?

Nanobrows use a specialist PMU machine to place tiny, precise dots that build into hair strokes or a soft powder finish - with minimal disruption to the skin.

If any of the following sound like you, nanobrows are likely your best match:

  • Sensitive, combination or oily skin

  • Larger pores

  • Scarring or existing micropigmentation in the brow area

  • Naturally thick or dark brow hairs

  • Strong existing brow density

The machine technique gives us greater control and consistency, making it the more versatile option for a wider range of skin types.

Microblading is the original hand technique - pigment is placed manually using fine, precise strokes to mimic the look of natural brow hairs. It produces a beautifully crisp, hair-like finish and remains one of the most natural-looking results available.

It tends to work best if you have:

  • Normal skin

  • Finer, lighter brow hairs

  • Moderate to low existing density

Touch-Ups

Semi-permanent makeup is designed to fade - and the initial touch-up appointment is a part of the process.

Here's why: no two areas of skin heal identically. Your skin has natural variation in texture and depth, which means some areas retain pigment more readily than others. On top of that, daily habits play a bigger role than most people expect - things like wearing a fringe, sleeping on your side, an active skincare routine, or simply how your individual immune system responds to pigment can all affect how your brows settle.

Your body is also doing exactly what it should. As soon as any foreign substance enters the skin, your immune system begins working to process it - which is part of why retention sits at around 40–60% after the initial heal. This is normal, and it's why the touch-up exists.

Our brows will seem lighter than you might be used to seeing elsewhere. We control pigment depth carefully, so results fade gracefully rather than staying with you for the next five plus years. The touch-up is where we reinforce, refine and build - giving your brows the depth and longevity they need, safely.

How Long Does it Last

Microblading typically lasts up to 12 months. Nanobrows up to 18 months. Both will soften gradually over that period, which is by design.

For upkeep, we recommend an annual refresh once you're in a maintenance cycle. Skipping your touch-up after the initial treatment will affect how long your results last and how they look - so it's worth building it into your plan from the start.

Why Namu House

Good brows aren't just about technique - they're about judgment.

Our artists work continuously to develop their skills, explore new tools and stay current. Experience matters, but experience without evolution means working with techniques the industry has already moved past. At Namu House, learning is ongoing - because your results depend on it.

Every treatment here is built from the ground up: skin theory, design theory, pigment theory. Even something as specific as pigment selection involves more than picking a colour that looks right. Different pigment providers formulate their products differently, using varying combinations of organic and inorganic colourants - each with different characteristics, different behaviours in the skin, and different suitability depending on your skin type and tone. These are the kinds of decisions you're trusting a professional to make well, often without knowing they're being made at all.

We're based in Central London, in a comfortable, large, penthouse studio - with air conditioning and heating - because it matters. You're already going to feel a little nervous walking in. We've thought about that. Premium work in a setting that actually feels good to be in.

Not Sure Which Treatment Is Right for You?

Read through the options above - they'll give you a strong sense of where to start. If you're still not sure, use our treatment finder at the bottom of the page to get a personalised recommendation based on your skin, your brows and what you're looking for.
